Additional information: Raytown Fire Protection District responded
to the report of an apartment fire on the third floor of a six-unit
building. Upon arrival units found heavy
smoke and fire in the rear of the structure.
The heavy winds today made extinguishment difficult, but units held the
fire to a single unit. Two additional
units did receive water damage as a result of the extinguishment. No injuries were reported and six residents have
been displaced. All of the smoke
detectors found in the structure were not in working condition.
