Raytown Fire responded to the scene of 3 inch gas line rupture.  Total of 14 residents were evacuated for a brief period of time while Missouri Gas Energy repaired the line.  At 14:30 all residents were allowed to return to their homes.

Afternoon Fire Damages Apartment

Additional information: Raytown Fire Protection District responded to the report of an apartment fire on the third floor of a six-unit building.  Upon arrival units found heavy smoke and fire in the rear of the structure.  The heavy winds today made extinguishment difficult, but units held the fire to a single unit.  Two additional units did receive water damage as a result of the extinguishment.  No injuries were reported and six residents have been displaced.  All of the smoke detectors found in the structure were not in working condition.
