Origin and Cause for the Apartment Fire Occurring in the 9800 Block of 61st Street

After a thorough physical assessment and examination of the scene of the fire, Fire District, Fire Investigators have concluded the fire had an incendiary cause.  There were no natural occurring ignition sources found at or around the point of ignition.  Based on this determination this is now considered a criminal matter and has been turned over to the Raytown Police Department Investigations Bureau. Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call the TIPS Hotline, 816-474-TIPS (8477).

PARKS AND OTHER PUBLIC PROPERTY AND IN BUSINESS

DISTRICTS. 

CONSUMER FIREWORKS MAY ONLY BE SOLD

AND DISCHARGED DURING THE FOLLOWING TIMES:

Sold between 6:00 a.m. on June 29 and 10:00 p.m. on July 4.

Discharged on July 4 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and

11:00 p.m. 

BOTTLE OR STICK ROCKETS, MISSILES, SKY LANTERNS AND ROMAN

CANDLES ARE PROHIBITED FROM BEING SOLD OR

DISCHARGED AT ANY TIME WITHIN THE CITY OF RAYTOWN

ALL PERSONS SHOOTING FIREWORKS MUST HAVE A 2017 RAYTOWN FIRE DISTRICT FIREWORKS PERMIT, WHICH IS AVAILABLE FREE AT ANY RAYTOWN FIREWORKS TENT OR CAN BE PRINTED OUT FROM THE IMAGE BELOW
