60th Street Apartment Fire Press Release

The Raytown Fire Protection District, in cooperation with local, state and federal agencies has completed the fire scene investigatory phase of the apartment fire that occurred in the early morning hours of February 7th, 2016.  The ATF press release is copied below:

The Fire District regrets the loss of life associated with this incident and expresses our sympathy to the families affected by this fire.

Press Conference Notification

The Raytown Fire Protection District will hold a joint press conference with the ATF at 3:00 PM today.  We will provide an update on the status of the incident and investigation at 8911 East 60th Street in Raytown.  The briefing will be held at the headquarters station of the Fire District, located at 6020 Raytown Trafficway, Raytown, Missouri 64133.  If you wish to attend please park in the rear parking lot of the fire station and enter by the double doors near the cell tower.

The Raytown Fire Protection District regrets to report a second fatality resulting from the apartment fire in Raytown on February 7, 2016.  Cherri Roberts, 59, was rescued by fire crews during the fire.  She suffered significant injuries and had been in critical condition since the incident.  Mrs. Roberts succumbed to her injuries last night.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time.
