Cause of the Fire: Accidental in Nature Originating in the area around a furnace.

Additional information: At 22:00 both Raytown Fire District and KCFD personnel responded to Clarks Appliances located in the area of the 6300 Block of Raytown Trafficway. Upon arrival, crews were met with heavy fire and smoke conditions and immediately began an aggressive interior fire attack with 1 large diameter attack line and 1 small diameter attack line. The fire was declared "Under Control" by the Commanding Officer at 22:44hrs. With the aid of the State of Missouri Fire Marshal's Office and Investigator's from Laclede Gas the cause of the Fire: Accidental in Nature, Originating in the area around a furnace. Clarks Appliances is a family owned appliance store that has been in continuous operation in Raytown since 1957.
