On September 8, 2013
eight members of the Raytown Fire Protection District along with 336 other
firefighters from the KC metro area climbed 110 floors of stairs in honor of the 343 who perished in the World
Trade Center Collapse. The climb was held at the AT&T Town Pavilion building located at 1111 Main street in Kansas City, MO. This event was held as a benefit
for the SAFE Endowment Fund, this fund provides
financial support for the surviving spouses and dependents of sworn law
enforcement officers, firefighters and emergency services personnel who lose
their life in the performance of their duties.
