The Raytown Fire Protection District and the Jackson County Water District #2 have lifted the EMERGENCY WATER RESTRICTIONS for Raytown customers of the Jackson County Water District #2. The restrictions were put in place at the recommendations of the Water District in response to the decreased supply pressure which Kansas City in currently able to provide.
“The Fire District is grateful for overwhelming response we saw from our residents.  In less than 20 minutes from the time we issued the restrictions the water system gained 10 psi.”  The only variable that changed was the issuance of the restrictions. “ Without a stable water supply we cannot safely provide fire protection for our residents, and it is no surprise that when needed our residents answered our call.”
Raytown remains under a boil advisory due to the low pressure we encountered.  Prior to drinking citizens are advised to boil water for a minimum of three minutes.  Boiling is not necessary for bathing, laundry, and other non-potable uses.  The advisory is to remain in effect for the next 24 to 48 hours.
